RALEIGH, N.C. — No. 7 NC State (5-0) completed its first two-game midweek tilt with a perfect record, easily dispatching Longwood (3-2) Wednesday afternoon at Doak Field, 19-3.

White reached on another Longwood error with Brown advancing to third base. Groover drove Brown home with a single before Pilolli walked to load the bases. White scored on a wild pitch, then Groover came home on a sacrifice fly by Hood before sophomore Eddie Eisert, Pilolli’s pinch-runner, crossed the plate on another wild pitch.

After entering the game as a defensive replacement for Soles, freshman Will Marcy led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a solo home run, the first of six runs for the Pack in the frame. Green followed with a double before coming home on a two-run homer by Brown. Two batters later, Groover doubled and later scored on an Eisert triple. Hood then reached on a third Lancer error, plating Eisert. Senior Matt Oldham, Cozart’s defensive replacement, followed by drawing a walk. Two batters later, Marcy drove in his second run of the inning with a single that sent Hood home.

NC State’s final two runs came in the bottom of the eighth inning. Brown reached on an infield single and moved into scoring position on the Lancers’ fourth error of the game. Freshman Chase Nixon, who previously pinch-hit for White in the seventh inning, reached base via beanball immediately after. Two batters later, Eisert drove Brown home with a single to right-center field. Following a fly-out, Oldham doubled down the right-field line to plate Nixon.
